Publishes Industry-Leading Virtual/Augmented Reality Work in Peer-Reviewed Journal

Philadelphia, PA: Today, PHOTON Biomedical LLC, a privately-held medical visualization agency with clients ranging from the medical device to pharmaceutical industries announced publication of some of its innovative research and development pipeline looking to advance the use of patient-specific medical visualization data in the peer-reviewed Journal of Biocommunications. The peer-reviewed article co-authored by the PHOTON’s co-founders Scott Riddle, MFA and Dr. Wasser entitled Touching The Human Neuron: Augmented Reality Interaction Using zStack Data Sets With Motion Tracking Technology represents the first report of a prototype that allows for real-time interaction with high-resolution cellular modules using wearable technology. The prototype was developed using zStack data sets which allow for real-time interaction of low polygon and direct surface models exported from primary source imaging. This paper also discusses potential educational, training, and clinical applications of a wearable, interactive, user-centric, augmented reality visualization of medical structures.
